Discover the Magic of Your Hometown: Be a Tourist Returns on 810 Day!
After a five-year hiatus, Be a Tourist in Your Hometown is back, bringing the vibrancy of Flint and Genesee County to life! This one-day extravaganza on August 10, 2024 – fondly known as 810 Day – invites you to explore the treasures of your own backyard for just $1. Tickets may be purchased in advance, or on the day of the event at Brush Park in downtown Flint or FIM Whiting in the Flint Cultural Center.
This passport grants you admission to the more than 20 attractions listed below. These sites were carefully selected based on key interests and themes, including arts and culture, family-friendly, history, and new attractions/businesses. Complimentary transportation is provided by Mass Transportation Authority (MTA). Bus Routes can be previewed under Categories.

Transportation: Walk, drive, or catch a bus. All bus routes depart from and return to Brush Park.
Restrooms and Accessibility: Available at most venues
A Mural Walking Tour will be offered from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. starting at Brush Park, 120 E. First St., Flint. Join What’s Up Downtown Project Director of Placemaking, Jerin Sage, for a one-hour walking tour exploring the murals, public art, and local artistic talents found around downtown Flint from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Meet at Brush Park and bring a water bottle, comfortable shoes, and be prepared for whatever weather the day brings us.
